IIT Delhi M.Tech Admission 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has unveiled new initiatives to increase access to its M.Tech programs for national candidates in the academic year 2026-27. The institute will offer up to 30% exceptional seats under the self-supported full-time category to students with a valid GATE score. Candidates admitted under this category will not be eligible for Institute Assistantship at the time of admission. Conversion from self-sponsored status to Institute Assistantship will be as per the prevailing norms of the Institute.IIT Delhi has also announced that currently registered students of Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) who are likely to graduate with a CGPA of 8.0 or more on a 10-point scale can apply for admission to the M. Technical programs without GATE score. These initiatives are aimed at widening access to postgraduate technical education and encouraging the participation of high performing students across India.Details about application process and last dateThe admission portal is now open for national candidates applying for M.Tech, Ph.D., and other postgraduate programs. Applicants are required to submit their online applications and pay the required fee by 11 April 2026, 4:00 PM Online application process started on 21 March 2026, 12:00 PM.
The written test and interviews for the shortlisted candidates are scheduled to be held between 13 May and 15 June 2026. Orientation for new postgraduate students is scheduled on 18 July 2026, followed by registration from 18 July to 19 July.
