IISc CCE introduced 6G Wireless ML course covering Python and 3GPP based technologies

The Indian Institute of Science has announced an online course on Machine Learning for 6G Wireless Communication under its Center for Continuing Education (CCE). The program is scheduled to run from May 4 to July 29, 2026, with live classes on Mondays and Wednesdays between 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM.In collaboration with Prof. Sidhan Majhi, Associate Professor in the Department of ECE, this course is designed for students and professionals who want to familiarize themselves with emerging wireless technologies. It is part of the CCE Proficiency Programme, which offers postgraduate level courses in specialized engineering and scientific domains.Course structure and eligibility criteriaApplicants must have BE, B.Tech, ME, M.Tech or PhD in the relevant discipline, while fourth year BE or B.Tech students are also eligible. Prior knowledge of wireless communication and basic Python programming is required. The total course fee is Rs 23,954 inclusive of GST which includes a core fee of Rs 20,000 and an application fee of Rs 300, both subject to 18% GST. Applications are accepted through the official online admission portal.Focus on AI and 6G communication system. The course content highlights the role of AI and ML in physical layer communication. It covers adaptive transmitter and receiver systems aimed at improving performance and reducing latency. The curriculum reflects developments associated with the 3GPP standards, which have incorporated AI and ML into the 6G research framework.Participants will study supervised, semi-supervised and unsupervised learning methods, along with models such as SVM, KNN, CNN, DNN, RNN and LSTM. Additional topics include transfer learning and practical Python implementation.
