Rohtak: Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), a premier business school based in Greater Noida, India, hosted its annual flagship event, Hermes Dialogue 6.0, organized by the PGDM-International Business Programme. The event serves as a platform for global dialogue, where ideas come together to promote meaningful international dialogue.The event concluded with Team Labroom from IIM Rohtak emerging as the winner. Team Magnus from the For School of Management took second place, followed by Team Strategy from Shri Ram College of Commerce.This year’s theme, “Should countries prioritize energy independence to ensure global energy security amid growing geopolitical uncertainty?”, addressed a question of increasing importance in today’s rapidly evolving global energy landscape. Since energy is no longer just an economic resource but also a geopolitical tool, this theme resonates strongly with contemporary global challenges.The national level competition saw participation from premier business schools across India, recording an impressive 250+ registrations. The total prize pool was ₹60,000.Among the 12 countries represented are UAE, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, Germany, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, China, Australia, USA and Japan.The event consisted of several rounds: an initial knowledge-based assessment on Instop to assess cognitive agility and decision-making, followed by a case submission round demonstrating analytical and multi-dimensional thinking, and culminating in the final round—the Battle of Perspectives. In this round, participants represented different nations and expressed their perspectives on energy independence, similar to the debates. United Nations and G20 forums.Finalists hailed from prestigious institutes like IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, BIMTECH, Shri Ram College of Commerce, IIT Patna, International Management Institute, For School of Management, Great Lakes Institute of Management, National Insurance Academy and NIA Pune.The esteemed jury panel included Mr. Rajeev Kher, IAS (Retd.), former Commerce Secretary, Government of India, and Mr. Samantha Chaudhary, IAS (Retd.), Principal Advisor, International Trade Policy, Confederation of Indian Industry. His assessments were based on important aspects of international trade, diplomacy and policy making.
