Indira Gandhi National Open University has extended the last date for submission of assignments

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially announced the extension for submission of assignments for its upcoming Term End Examinations (TEE) scheduled in June-2026. This extension applies to both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programs under GOAL and EVBB.In this regard, the Student Evaluation Division of the University has issued a notification vide IG/SED/Assignment/TEE/June-2026, dated 1st April 2026. The notification has confirmed that the last date for submission of assignments has been extended. This extension will provide more time for students to submit hard and soft copies of assignments.Approval of extension from Competent AuthorityThe extension is given with the approval of the competent authority in the university. The deadline for submission of assignments for students of GOAL and EVBB programs will now be 30 April 2026. The university has emphasized that the deadline will apply to all students in both ODL and online modes.The notification emphasizes that the extension is official and final. Students are advised to ensure that the assignments, hard and soft copies, are sent to the concerned assignment section.The submission instructions are still the same.The guidelines for submitting assignments are still the same as provided earlier. While students are required to send hard copies to the Assignment Section of the Student Evaluation Division, soft copies can also be submitted through the online portal provided by the University. The University still follows a systematic process to ensure that assignments are received and evaluated properly.Although students are advised to refer to the separate portals for different courses for any specific guidelines, the University still maintains that assignments received after 30 April 2026 cannot be considered.Ensuring compliance with TEE requirementsThis initiative is part of IGNOU’s efforts to ensure students’ compliance with TEE requirements. This move has given students extra preparation time so they can submit assignments without the pressure of an actual deadline.IGNOU’s GOAL and EVBB programs still adhere to a systematic evaluation process to ensure that student assignments are evaluated properly and against set academic standards. The move is part of the university’s efforts to support students across traditional and online platforms.
