Himachal Pradesh Board of Technical Education (HPBTE) has started the registration process for Polytechnic Entrance Test (PAT) 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for HP PAT 2026 through official website hptechboard.com.As per the official schedule, the last date to apply is May 5. The entrance exam will be conducted on 17 May 2026.
HP PAT 2026 Exam Date and Time
The HP PAT 2026 exam will be held on May 17 from 10 am to 1 pm at 29 exam centers across the state. The board has also clarified that no application for change of examination center will be entertained after allotment.Direct link to apply Here
Application fee
Candidates have to pay the following application fee.
- General category: 750 Rs
- Protected categories: 500 Rs
HP PAT 2026 Exam Pattern
The HP PAT 2026 exam will consist of four sections:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- English
The question paper will consist of 150 questions. Candidates will get four marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Admission through HP PAT
HP PAT is conducted once every year for admission to polytechnic institutes in Himachal Pradesh. These institutions are accredited. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) approved by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
HP PAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
As per eligibility requirements:
- Candidates must have passed 10th standard from a recognized board.
- A minimum of 35% marks in aggregate is required.
- Students appearing for Class 10 final exams can also apply.
- Final eligibility will be verified during physical reporting.
Merit List and Counselling
HP PAT 2026 Merit List will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam. After declaration of results, candidates will be able to fill their course and institute preferences.Candidates will also get the option to modify their preferences during round 2 of counselling.Applicants are advised to complete the registration process before the last date and keep checking the official website for further updates.
