Honda is gearing up to introduce a mid-cycle update for the City sedan, which is already under development. A partially camouflaged prototype has been spotted on public roads in Brazil, indicating that testing is underway ahead of its global debut. The latest model is expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. An image showing the rear of the latest city has surfaced from the probe. Early reports suggested that the facelift could draw styling cues from the new Civic, but the latest spy shot indicates only minor modifications rather than a complete redesign.

The rear end of the test car is largely unchanged, indicating that the Honda City facelift will retain its current silhouette. Minor updates are seen, including revised taillamps, a reworked rear bumper and a new set of alloy wheels, hinting at limited design changes. At the front, the update is expected to be more noticeable, with a redesigned bumper, a new grille and slimmer headlamps. A change to the lower grille and a minor modification to the bonnet are also likely. Overall, the facelift seems to focus on incremental styling updates rather than a complete redesign.
The facelifted Honda City is expected to get interior updates focused on features and comfort. Possible additions include a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats and an updated infotainment system with better connectivity. The cabin may also get revised upholstery with new material or color options. Overall, the changes are expected to increase comfort and equipment levels without major changes to the interior layout.Mechanically, it is expected to remain the same and will continue to get two engine options – a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine that produces 121bhp and 145Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed MT or CVT gearbox. It also offers the first hybrid powertrain in the segment: a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid engine with 124 hp and 253 Nm of torque.Photo: Instagram/autosegredos
