Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra Appreciated Ravi Bishnoi for his decisive spell. Rajasthan RoyalsA narrow six-run win over Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026. He also remarked that the leg-spinner was undervalued in the auction and deserved a much higher price. Chasing 211 in Ahmedabad on 4 April, Gujarat were largely undone by Bishnoi’s impact with the ball. The wrist-spinner returned figures of 4/41 in his four overs, striking at crucial moments to tilt the game in Rajasthan’s favour. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra highlighted Bishnoi’s value and performance. “Ravi Bishnoi, we were talking at the auction that he was sold very cheaply – seven crores cheap. He should have got 10-11 crores. He was a brilliant acquisition at seven crores. He took four wickets and made the difference in the end as all the important wickets were to his name.” Chopra also gave special praise. Tushar DeshpandeWho came under pressure in the last over to seal the game. “Tushar Deshpande came into the team and Brijesh Sharma wasn’t there, and what changed in the end as Tushar Deshpande stood between winning and losing. Tushar Deshpande executed those yorkers beautifully. Thumbs up with both hands for working under pressure,” he observed. Deshpande finished with figures of 1/24 in three overs and held his nerve in the final over, dismissing Rashid Khan for just four runs when Gujarat needed 11 runs from six balls. Earlier in the innings, Dhruv Jorrell played a brilliant innings, scoring 75 off 42 balls to anchor Rajasthan’s innings. Chopra praised his maturity, especially after moving up the order this season. “Before that, Dhruv Jorrell. They took a big call to make him bat at No. 3 this season, and he was absolutely brilliant. He batted almost till the end. He scored his maiden Test century only on this ground. Great guy. I love him with the bats. I’m very happy when he does well. Then his two openers. Surya and Vibhu, in my opinion. Yeshsavi Jaiswal The most explosive openers in this league,” he said. Along with Jurel, Vibhu Suryavanshi (31 off 18) and Yashaswi Jaiswal (55 off 36) gave Rajasthan a strong start at the top. Chopra, on the other hand, pointed out the shortcomings in Gujarat’s pursuit, saying that better planning could have changed the outcome. “GT, this match was yours. There were batting issues. Shibman Gill’s injury certainly didn’t help, but wickets kept falling at intervals. I thought it was a bit of a sloppy chase. If you could have done it a little better, you could have won the game,” observed Chopra. Despite Sai Sudharsan’s solid 73 off 44 balls, Gujarat lost momentum after his dismissal. From a strong position of 107/1 in 10.3 overs, the innings came to an end, allowing Rajasthan to complete a dramatic turnaround.
