The cost of using the FASTag Annual Pass is set to increase from April 1, 2026, as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has revised its pricing. The prepaid toll plan, which was introduced last year to ease highway travel, will now cost Rs 3,075 a year, up from Rs 3,000 by Rs 75.Launched in August 2025, FASTag was designed to facilitate regular highway users by reducing the need to recharge the annual pass frequently. The plan allows customers to make a one-time payment covering either a year’s journey or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) the prices have been revised as per the National Highways Fees (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.
The scheme has seen steady uptake since its rollout, with over 5.6 lakh customers opting for the annual pass so far. It applies only to private, non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans and can be used at about 1,150 toll plazas on national highways and expressways. To purchase a FASTag annual pass, users can visit the official MoRTH or NHAI website, or use the Raj Marg Yatra mobile application. After entering the vehicle details and FASTag ID, customers can complete the payment through options like UPI, net banking, or debit and credit cards. After the transaction is successful, the pass is linked to the existing FASTag, and a confirmation is sent via SMS to the registered mobile number.
