Last month it was announced that famous singer and musician Labrinth, who has been with ‘Euphoria’ since season 1, will not be participating in their final season. Since then fans and netizens have been wondering what happened behind the scenes. Not only that, after he left, Hans Zimmer took over the music for the third season as well. In a recent post, Labrinth finally broke his silence and revealed why it all came to this and that people will lie in this industry all the time.
Why Labrinth dropped “Euphoria”
Taking to her social media account, the famous ‘Kill for Your Love’ singer revealed one of the reasons she left Zendaya’s show. The singer revealed: “I talked to HBO, as far as I know, we’re cool. I left, the ultimate truth, when I work for someone, because their vision is essential to me, but I don’t allow people to treat people like mimes.’In another part of his post, Labrinth also seems to have responded to Sam Levinson (creator of ‘Euphoria’) about a recent statement he made to Rolling Stone. During the interview, Levinson briefly touched on the subject of Labrinth’s departure and commented that he did not know.In an apparently direct response, Labrinth wrote: “People will lay comfortably in this industry and still call themselves honest people. So no hat, I decided to remove the music I had on it.”
About Labrinth and ‘Euphoria’
Labrinth was a part of ‘Euphoria’ from the very beginning and was credited with creating the majority of the music for the first two seasons. This included songs like ‘All for Us’, ‘Formula’, ‘Mount Everest’, ‘Never Felt So Alone’ and many more. The score for the show was widely praised, with many fans of the show noting that the “trippy” vibe of “Euphoria” was thanks to Labrinth. His song ‘All of Us’, a collaboration with ‘The Drama’ star Zendaya, also won him an Emmy Award in 2020.
