Ed Sheeran has shared a heartwarming update on his wife, Cherry Seaborn, following her cancer diagnosis in what she once described as the scariest time in their lives. Sheeran said Seaborn is now doing well after treatment. He explained that doctors discovered the tumor in 2022, when Jupiter was pregnant with her second daughter, who is now 3 years old. The singer said that time made the situation even more difficult, but added that Seaborn is now on the other side of that health battle. On the ‘Friends Keep Secrets’ podcast with Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco, Sheeran gave a direct update on his wife. “Okay,” Ed said. “He did the surgery.”He then explained why the diagnosis felt so dire at the time. “I mean she was pregnant at the time,” Ed added. “That’s why it was difficult. She had surgery to remove the tumor after we gave birth to our second child. Fortunately, touch wood, she’s fine.”Sheeran first spoke about Seaborn’s diagnosis in the 2023 Disney+ documentary, ‘Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All.’ In a new podcast interview, he looked back on the moment he learned the news and says it remains one of the darkest periods of his life.

“Cherry ran me over the day she said she had cancer,” he said. “That was probably the worst day. Probably the worst week because Jamal died that week as well and then we went straight into court. And then Shane died.”At the same time, Sheeran was also discussing the copyright issue of ‘Shape of You’. She said that major events in her life changed how she viewed the case, especially the emotional impact of Shane’s death, which made her review the importance of the case in the context of her personal experiences. “He was a scary king,” she revealed. “Being in a court case that was building up to eight years. And suddenly, when you’re in court, it didn’t really matter.”Sheeran also reflected on Seaborn’s role in his life during a previous ‘Call Her Daddy’ appearance. “Cherry is the biggest grounding force,” she said, adding that she keeps life simple and grounded in reality.
