Talking about his past work, Durai Senthilkumar candidly admitted that he has some regrets about certain creative decisions. While discussing ‘Kaaki Sattai’, according to Movies Tamil, he explained that the script was originally written as a serious film. However, things changed later when the film was made with Sivakarthikeyan. “When I wrote the film Dhanush sir, he was in a serious tone. But after Mr. Sivakarthikeyan left, we added the character of Mr. Manobala. I am not satisfied with that decision,” he said. He added that many people suggested that Sivakarthikeyan be presented in a more entertaining style after the success of ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’, which led to the script change.

Filmmaker Reflects on Mistakes in ‘Kodi,’patsand ‘Garuda’

Durai Senthilkumar also spoke about his experience working in the Dhanush-starrer ‘Kodi’. He admitted that he could have written the climate better. “I thought I could work on the climax after the initial shoot, but we wrapped up the double act scenes quickly. Dhanush sir was available and wanted to complete the film,” he said. The director added that the mistake is not on the actor’s side. He also reflected on his subsequent films. “In ‘Pattaas’, the commercial route and some script changes were things I could have avoided,” he said. Talking about ‘Garudan’, he mentioned that the film had to be completed within 70 days, which left little time for corrections, though he was still happy with the end result.
