Malayalam film fans will have to wait a little longer to see their beloved superstar Mohanlal his next “Drishyam 3” on the big screen. On Monday, the makers announced a new release date for the much-debated drama. The third installment of the popular franchise ‘Drishyam’ will hit the theaters on May 21, Mohanlal’s birthday.
“Drishyam 3” was initially slated to release on April 2 this year, but has now been pushed back.Sharing the new release date with netizens, Mohanlal wrote on his official social media handle, “The past never stays silent… just wait. Georgekutty is coming, 21st May 2026. #Drishyam3 | Global release (sic).”Reports had been circulating for some time of the director’s dismissal Jeethu JosephIt might prompt the next one.Earlier, sources said officials are considering pushing for the release due to tensions in the Gulf.Mohanlal completed the shooting of “Drishyam 3” in December last year.
