Writer BVS Ravi ‘Rana Naidu’ has praised filmmaker Aditya Dhar ‘Dhurandhar’
In an interview with Gulte, BVS Ravi has praised the high ambition of making ‘Dhurandhar’. He shared, “Look at ‘Dhurandhar’, he (Aditya) made an 8-hour film. How much work he had to do and how much research he had to do. He tried hard to make it logical. What is the theme he has built? What is the number of people who have trusted and believed in his vision? How did he convince the producer to spend that kind of money?”
BVS Ravi has said that ‘Dhurandhar’ will change how Telugu films are produced
In the same interview, he also touched on the whole belief that rising production costs in Tollywood are caused by the remuneration of actors. He argued that weak pre-production planning is the real culprit. Ravi added that “Dhurandhar” proves that a disciplined approach can deliver impressive results at a fraction of what others spend. He continued, “If you leave creativity aside, I think ‘Dhurandhar’ is the beginning of the end for conventional producers. It is known that the film was made on a budget of 260 crores for two parts, with Ranveer Singh. Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khannaand other people. Check out the out-of-this-world battles and locations. They put up a set in Bangkok, but it still cost them. We start our films at a cost of Rs 500 crore.”
