‘Dongri Ke Sultan’ was spun off from ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, reveals Mujtaba Aziz Naza
In an interview with Mid-Day, Mujtaba Aziz Naza shared, “We shot three songs: ‘Dongri Ke Sultan’, and (cover) of ‘Jumma Chumma De De’ and ‘Apni Toh Jaise Taise’. The set-up was elaborate: Ranveer (Singh) and Rakesh Bedi were there in a truck while they were showing it in a group. We recorded the song in one day.”
The singer also shared where the song would be included in the film. He said, “That scene was actually when Ranveer (Singh) was returning from winning the election. There was a lot of fun and a lot of spectators. There were at least 10 cars. We shot it in South Mumbai on a day in the last Ramadan (2025).”Mujtaba Aziz Naza added that his entire team was present for the shoot. He added that his brother Munir was also part of the scene. Calling the set-up and shoot “amazing”, “we had a band in a truck, drummers in front and a car with Ranveer and Rakesh Bedi”.In the same interview, he revealed that the sequence was shot for an entire day. He said, “We recorded it live. He also put cameras in the buildings, and also on the ground floor. A couple of people were shooting from the buildings, and Aditya repeatedly asked the residents not to shoot from their mobile phones. He had a very big team.”

During the interview, Mujtaba Aziz Nazak praised director Aditya Dhar for the entire sequence. He said that the filmmaker was quite happy and suggested songs. He added that they recorded ‘Dongri Ke Sultan’ first and then the director suggested other songs.Naza added, “He said, ‘Ustad ji, you have sung this song a little more swingy. You don’t have to worry about the way you sing it.’ He asked me to play my instrument, my bongo, a little swingy. He shot every scene.”
Mujtaba Aziz Naza in a song not featured in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’
Despite being shot on a massive scale, the song did not feature in ‘Dhurandhar 2’. Speaking about the same, he said, “I don’t know why we had to remove them. (The makers) have edited everything. Fan clubs reached out to me, asking about the song.”He revealed that he will release the song exclusively. He said: “My song was there but it couldn’t come. So I decided I would make an official video. Because it only had audio and no video.” The singer stated that her team is also working on her video. “Very soon we will release the official video of ‘Dongri Ke Sultan’.”Mujtaba Aziz Naza says that shooting the song was an experience and a “big thing” for him. He said that Ranveer Singh It has been very lucky for him, because he did two films with him, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’.He shared, “I have already received a lot of love from people. Working with Aditya Dhar was a very happy memory for me. I would like to thank him for the film.”
