‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is all set to wreak havoc at the international box office and the proof is in the advance booking reports. Film, Director Aditya Dhar and protagonist Ranveer Singh leadership, it’s off to a strong start at the North American box office and international markets in general.

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ International Box Office Collections

According to advance booking reports, the film has collected $9 million for its opening weekend, Venky reported. The film has seen particularly good momentum in North America, where pre-release sales alone have reached around US$1.85 million. In the United States, the film’s opening gross is US$1.54 million at 740 locations, selling over 2,100 shows and over 97,000 tickets.Including premiere preview shows and opening day ticket sales, North American advance bookings totaled $2.85 million, indicating a strong start for the film. With the buzz surrounding the film and added pains on its release day, the film is likely to make new records at the box office.

“Dhurandhar: The Revenge” crosses $9 million

The film’s performance overseas has also been impressive, with advance sales of around $4 million on its opening day (including preview screenings). Meanwhile, the opening weekend collections are already approaching USD 10 million. According to the report, the total opening weekend collection in North America alone is USD 6.4 million. Therefore, the total foreign advance has increased to USD 9 million. With the numbers expected to rise further, the film could have a total collection that crosses the USD 10 million mark.

Highest International Opening Weekend Collections for an Indian Film

However, it remains to be seen what it takes for the film to surpass the previous records set by other Indian films over the years. The current record is held by Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’ which collected around $26 million. ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ collected around $22.5 million in its overseas opening weekend, while Shah Rukh starrer ‘Jawan’ opened around $21.5 million. While these films crossed the $20 million mark, other films like ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, ‘Leo’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ opened overseas with $19.2 million, $18.2 million and $17.9 million respectively.

Starring Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Yami Gautam, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ opens in theaters on March 19, with early previews on March 18.
