Suvinder Pal is being praised for his impressive performance as Brigadier Jahangir in Vicky Dhurandhar 2 . From the viral dialogue “Aa gaya Pandu” to the disturbing tongue-in-cheek sequence, the actor’s portrayal has struck a chord with the audience. In a recent chat, he spoke about the character’s layered personality, intense scenes and the response that comes with it.
‘In his language this acidity is the right word’
Speaking about Brigadier Jahangir’s stern and almost harsh tone, Suvinder explains that it stems from deep-rooted frustration.“That frustration is a key part of Brigadier Jahangir. He is someone who has seen power… especially around the 1971 war, and now he can’t exercise that control. Even the son does not follow his path. That helplessness and frustration defines him,” Faridoon told Shahryar.He added: “At the same time, the character has a lot of hard qualities; you might even feel hatred for him. He’s foul-mouthed, patriarchal and aggressive. In his language, that ‘acidity’ is the right word for him.”
The viral ‘Aa gaya Pandu’ moment
Apart from the intensity, one dialogue that has caught on with the audience is ‘Aa gaya Pandu’, which is currently trending online.“It feels great when people talk about your work, make memes and your dialogues become popular – it’s like fodder for an actor,” said Suvinder.She revealed that the moment came organically during filming. “That tone, that laugh… it all came out very naturally from within. It was about building that internal frustration and then letting it go in that moment.”

Another major talking point has been the disturbing tongue pulling sequence Arjun Ramp. Suvinder shared that the scene was shot with minimal rehearsal to maintain realism.“We didn’t rehearse too much. I told Arjun, ‘Do what you have to do for the scene’. He also asked me if I was comfortable, and I said yes. The more real it feels, the better it is,” she said.He added, “When someone pulls on the tongue, the pain is real, so that helps the acting. We wanted it to feel organic rather than staged.”Speaking about the emotional shift within the sequence, he said: “There’s impotence, he calls out, but physically he’s not in a position to do much. So he tries to soften his approach.’

Responding to the overwhelming response, the actor expressed his gratitude.“Thank you for the compliments and encouragement. I always try to give my 100 percent. The rest is up to the audience – their love means everything,” she said.Suvinder also revealed that his portions were completed on a tight schedule.“It was an indoor shoot over the course of a day and a night. There were costume and physical changes between scenes, especially for the bath sequence, which required a lot of preparation,” he shared.The actor has admitted that Dhurandhar 2 has brought him widespread recognition.“Earlier, people used to ask if I was an actor or not. Now they instantly recognize me as ‘Brigadier saab’. That’s a big change,” he said, adding that offers have started pouring in.
