‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, dir Aditya DharIt has been a huge success at the box office since its release on March 19. It has not only lived up to the hype created by its predecessor, but has also taken the franchise to greater heights and garnered immense praise from the industry. Many celebrities have reacted to the film and the internet can’t stop talking about it, be it in the form of fan theories or memes or high profile details. Despite its success, a section of the audience has criticized the film, calling it “propaganda”. Responding to these claims, famous trainer Mustafa Ahmed, who played Rizwan in the film alongside Ranveer Singh, dismissed the famous actor-turned-actor in a recent interview.
Mustafa said in an interview with Bollywood Cut Uncut. He emphasized that he is not trying to play it safe and that he has approached his role with complete sincerity, like the rest of the team members, who gave their performances with all their heart.He further added, “Maine apna jo kirdaar nibhaya hai, usmein maine kahin compromise nahi kiya hai. Main kahin pe bhi jaakar, jaise log bolte hain ki apne fame ke liye zameer bech diya ya kuch, maine aisa kuch nahi kiya. Main bas apni baat kar sakta hoon, a bolt apne tare li hoone, a sakta apne hoek hoon. Is kirdaar ne aisa kuch nahi kiya, na hi maine apne aas-paas aisa kuch dekha jiske liye mujhe laga ho ki yeh sahi nahi hai.“Meanwhile, the filmmaker Ram Gopal Varmawho has been openly supporting the film since its release, also responded to the ongoing “propaganda” debate. Taking to social media, Pakistani critics suggested they create their own version of the narrative. His tweet read: “I have a WONDERFUL IDEA IN PAKISTAN, for all those claiming #Dhurandhar2 is a PROPAGANDA film full of lies, they can get their Pakistani @AdityaDharFilms and make it #DhurandharTheTruth.“Anupam Kher also reacted by calling ‘Dhurandhar’ a propaganda film. He said, “People who call it a propaganda film, I feel sorry for them. They should be ashamed. Agar aapse bardaasht nahi hota toh aap bhi aisi film banaa lo. It is a film that talks about Modern India, apart from how brilliant our agencies are. How meticulously they are doing their work. We are people living in this country. ho? Aapko jab main personal life mein milta hu lagta nahi hai but kahin na kahin Kashmiri pandit ka takleef gussa, because.. We don’t take up arms but we give answers with our work, myself included. We provide answers with our work. How brilliantly he has demolished the opposing country, tark deke (with logic and justification).
