The issue started when the SLC rejected Thushara’s NOC application, allegedly for failing the fitness test. In response, the 31-year-old approached the court, seeking an intervention so that he could play in IPL 2026, where he was scheduled to feature for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.However, the SLC opposed their plea in court and said it would file an objection. The court granted the request of the board and fixed the next hearing on April 23.Thushara then seems to reconsider her legal action and may withdraw the case altogether. His apology signals a softer stance and an attempt to ease tensions with the board.Thushara, who has played 30 T20 Internationals since 2022, also featured in the previous IPL season. Although his immediate participation in IPL 2026 is uncertain, the situation is now moving towards a resolution rather than further controversy.
