New Delhi: Former Australian opener David Warner According to news.com.au, is in deep trouble after being charged with drink driving following an incident in Sydney’s Maroubra on Tuesday. Warner, who currently leads Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, was picked up by New South Wales police and subjected to a random breathalyzer test, according to Australian media reports.Tests reportedly revealed that Warner had consumed more than the legal limit. His blood alcohol reading was recorded at 0.104, twice the legal limit in Australia. As a result, Warner was charged, arrested, and taken to Maroubra Police Station.He has been directed to appear in court next month.“At around 5:30pm today (Sunday 5 April 2026), police were conducting a stationary random breath test on Malabar Road, Maroubra,” the police statement said. “A van was reportedly spotted stopping near the testing site and park. Officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command approached the vehicle and subjected the driver – a 39-year-old man – to a roadside test which came back positive.”“He was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station where a second test reportedly returned a reading of 0.104.“The man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for driving with a medium distance PCA to appear at Downing Center Local Court on Thursday 7 May 2026.”Warner last featured internationally against India in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.This followed his retirement from Test cricket in January 2024 and from ODIs shortly after the 2023 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup.
