In an interaction with The Guardian, Grohl revealed that he had spent the last 70 weeks in intensive therapy, undergoing more than 430 sessions. “I did the math today: more than 430 sessions,” he said. “I’ve been in therapy six days a week,” she said.For Grohl, the process wasn’t triggered by a single event, but by an accumulation of personal and professional upheavals, and the last few years have been particularly devastating. In 2022, Taylor Hawkins, Grohl’s bandmate and close friend, died. Hawkins’ disappearance was followed by the death of Grohl’s mother, Virginia, just a month later.Grohl admitted the grief was almost too overwhelming to process.

One of the things she has discovered since starting therapy is the tendency to be “too ambitious” and take on too many projects.“I think that’s how I ended up overextending myself and losing myself,” she said, before adding: “I wasn’t sitting with myself and really letting go. [feelings] go from my head to my heart. When I got to the point where I was like me, I have to stop, turn everything off and find my heart.”

Amidst all the chaos and mayhem, the Foo Fighters are experimenting with new music. Their upcoming album ‘Your Favorite Toy’ marks a significant departure from their polished recent albums. The project also reflects his internal struggles. Grohl also revealed that the songs explore themes of guilt, survival and the search for meaning.
