CBSE Syllabus 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to release the Class IX and X syllabus for the academic session 2026-27, a major step in the rollout of revised education guidelines at the secondary level.This follows the release of Class XI and XII syllabus on April 1, 2026, as part of the board’s phased introduction of updated syllabus documents for affiliated schools.Syllabus rollout and webinar detailsAs per the official circular issued by CBSE, the syllabus for Class IX and X is planned to be released on April 2, 2026. The move assumes significance as the CBSE plans to implement the scheme of studies prescribed in the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-2023) in Class 9 from this year.To facilitate understanding of the changes, CBSE will organize a special webinar focusing on the revised scheme of studies and key updates outlined in the opening pages of the Secondary Curriculum Part-I 2026–27 document for classes 9 and 10.• Dharmendra Pradhan launched CBSE CT and AI syllabus for class 3 to 8 studentsThe webinar is scheduled to be held at CBSE Headquarters Auditorium at Integrated Office Complex, Sector-23, Dwarka at 3:00 PM. It will also be streamed live through an official online link to enable participation of schools from all regions.Access to curriculum documentsThe board has said that the complete syllabus documents for classes 9 to 12 will be available on the CBSE academic portal under the ‘Syllabus 2026-27’ section. Schools have been directed to download the documents including the introductory sections and circulate them to teachers and students of classes 9 and 10 for quick reference.Institutions are also advised to make necessary arrangements to implement these changes as per the guidelines provided in the curriculum documents.Emphasis on updated learning approachesCBSE has indicated that the revised syllabus is in line with the vision and principles of NCF-2023. The curriculum focuses on competency-based learning, experiential learning, flexibility in subject selection, and overall learner development.It is important for schools to strictly adhere to the guidelines provided in the prescribed syllabus for Class IX and X as well as in the elementary sections and individual subjects.Guidelines for schools and stakeholdersHeads of institutions have been advised to sensitize teachers and organize special Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to inform parents and students of class IX and X about the salient features of the revised syllabus.“Schools should ensure effective implementation of curriculum changes from the beginning of the academic session 2026-27,” said Dr Pragya M Singh, Professor and Director (Academics).
