RPSC SI Exam Admit Card 2026: gave Supreme Court of India Friday amended its April 2 order and allowed only one candidate to appear in the Rajasthan Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment exam 2025. Earlier, the court had allowed 713 candidates to appear in the examination. PTIThis exam is being conducted by Rajasthan Public Service Commission on 5th and 6th April 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,015 Sub-Inspector and Platoon Commander posts, and more than 7.70 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam.

According to PTIA bench comprising Justices Dipankar Dutta and Satish Chandra Sharma modified its earlier judgment after hearing the pleas of the RPSC.Earlier, the court had directed the RPSC to issue provisional admit cards to 713 candidates, including petitioner Suraj Mal Meena. However, after reviewing the matter, the bench restricted the relief to Meena only.The court said that all other candidates who were not part of the petition, may approach the Rajasthan High Court for further relief if required.
Background of the case
The matter pertains to the recruitment examination of sub-inspector and platoon commander, which was earlier canceled due to allegations of irregularities and malpractice.RPSC later decided to conduct a fresh exam. However, no age relaxation is given to candidates who are disqualified due to age limit. This led to legal challenges before the Rajasthan High Court.Initially, a single judge bench allowed the affected candidates to appear in the exam provisionally. The order was later stayed by a division bench, prompting a candidate to approach the Supreme Court.
Court’s direction
The Supreme Court has now clarified that:
- Only one candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination.
- Other candidates can approach Rajasthan High Court.
- Further decisions will depend on the pending decision of the High Court.
