Global K-pop powerhouse BTS will reunite as a full group on March 20, 2026, ending a three-year, nine-month hiatus from collective projects. The Septet group will release their fifth studio album ‘Arirang’ at 13:00 KST, the first since “Proof” in June 2022 and after all members have completed their mandatory military service. Fans around the world are full of excitement, as posters of the group appeared near HYBE’s headquarters in central Seoul ahead of the release.
Capturing Korean roots and deep emotions
The album’s title comes from the iconic Korean folk song “Arirang”, often seen as the nation’s unofficial anthem. BigHit Music, BTS’ agency, explained that “Arirang” embodies the group’s Korean roots “along with the longing and deep love in their hearts.” Comprised of 14 tracks, it includes standout songs such as “Swim”, “Body to Body”, “Hooligan”, “Aliens”, “Fya” and “2.0”. Single “Swim” is upbeat alternative pop about dealing with life’s obstacles, with lyrics co-written by frontman RM.Each song offers a new look into the world of BTS. “Body to Body” honors the electric connection they have with their fans during live performances, “Hooligan” reflects their remarkable journey, and “2.0” offers an honest insight into the members’ current lives. The album came together last summer through songwriting sessions in Los Angeles, fueled by top producers like Diplo, Ryan Tedder and El Guincho.
Full schedule for BTS
BTS will celebrate their comeback with a free live performance at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul on Saturday, March 21, expected to attract 260,000 fans and visitors. The event will be broadcast worldwide on Netflix, ensuring that ARMYs everywhere can join the party. The group goes to the USA next week on “Spotify x BTS: Swimside” in New York on March 23rd, and on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on March 25th and 26th.This comeback feels monumental after RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook and Jin complete their military duties between 2023 and early 2026. Jin was the first to sign up in December 2022, and after the others, he left the fans eagerly waiting for this moment of the entire team. The hiatus allowed for solo activities, from Jungkook’s “Golden” album to Jimin’s “Muse,” but nothing matched the synergy of the septet. As the purple lights of Seoul shine and social media explodes, BTS proves once again why they dominate the world stage. ‘Arirang’ promises to mix honest storytelling with infectious beats, reaffirming their unbreakable bond with fans.
