BMW Motorrad has confirmed the launch of its highly anticipated adventure motorcycle F 450 GS in India. The model will finally make its much-anticipated launch in India on April 23, 2026. While the model was designed and manufactured in Germany, it will be manufactured locally at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility in India.With this, the new model will be BMW’s entry-level adventure entry point, effectively replacing the G 310 GS in India. It will go up against the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure albeit at a premium price.

BMW WF 450GS: Engine specifications and hardware

Powering the F 450 GS is a new 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that produces around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is equipped with a slipper clutch and two-way quick shifter. On the hardware front, the motorcycle is expected to get a 43mm USD front fork and rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, wrapped in dual-purpose tires.

BMW F 450 GS: Features and Expected Price

In terms of features, the F 450 GS packs a rich electronics suite, including a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, multiple riding modes, traction control, switchable dual-channel ABS, heated grips, ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Engine Drag Torque Control and Dyna Control. BMW is also expected to offer the bike in four variants: Basic, Special, Sport and GS Trophy.Globally, the F 450 GS offers multiple seat height options, with a standard seat height of 845 mm, which can be adjusted to 835 mm or 860 mm depending on the seat configuration. While the official price for India is yet to be announced, the motorcycle is expected to be priced above Rs 5 lakh, ex-showroom. More details can be expected closer to launch.
