Bihar Police Constable 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the posts must have passed Intermediate (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Science stream. At least 50% marks are required for general category candidates, while SC and ST applicants have to secure at least 45%.As on 1 August 2026, the age limit for unreserved category candidates has been fixed between 18 to 25 years. Age relaxation will be applicable for certain categories as per existing rules.
Application fee
The application fee is fixed at Rs. 100 for all categories. Payment can be made online through BHIM UPI, NetBanking, or Debit Card.
Selection process
The recruitment process will be done in three phases. The steps are the written test, followed by the physical fitness test, and finally the document verification process.The written test will consist of 100 objective type questions for a total of 100 marks and will be conducted in a duration of two hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The questions will be based on intermediate level subjects like General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.Candidates who qualify the written test will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test. Physical fitness tests will include running, high jump, and shot put. Physical fitness of the candidates will be checked by measuring height and chest for male candidates and minimum weight of 48 kg for female candidates. The document verification process will be simultaneous.
Salary and posting
The selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level 3, with a salary ranging from Rs. 21,700 to Rs.69,100 per month. Additional allowances and benefits will be provided as per Bihar Police norms. All postings will be in the state of Bihar.
