New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday revised the IPL 2026 schedule, changing the dates and venues of the matches between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings due to the April 26 municipal corporation elections in Gujarat.Not only Ahmedabad, but many cities including Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Karamsad Anand, Gandhidham, Nadiad, Nausari, Porbandar, Mehsana, Morbi, Vapi and Surendranagar are going to have elections. The counting of votes is scheduled to take place on April 28.IPL Schedule: What’s Changed?According to the revised schedule announced by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia, the afternoon match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, initially scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 26, will now be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on the same date. The match will start at 3:30 pm Pakistan time.As a result, the return fixture – originally scheduled for May 21 in Chennai – will now be hosted in Ahmedabad, while the 7:30 PM IST start time will be retained.The rest of the IPL 2026 schedule remains unchanged as the tournament enters its crucial mid-season phase.“The change is required in view of the municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat on April 26, 2026,” the BCCI said in a release.IPL 2026: Points Table ViewFive-time champions Chennai Super Kings next face Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on Tuesday, having opened their account with a 23-run win over Delhi Capitals.Gujarat Titans have collected four points from four matches and are fifth in the table.
