GUWAHATI: Jyotirme Das, a student of Sankardev Seshu Niketan, Patacharkuchi secured the first rank in the Assam HSLC examination 2026, bringing pride to the Vidya Bharati family. Vidya Bharati-affiliated schools in Assam are run by Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, while in Barak Valley and Dima Hasav they are run by Shiksha Vikas Parishad, South Assam. “Currently, we have 576 schools in Assam providing value-based education in the mother tongue. In this year’s HSLC examination, 10,375 students from 403 schools appeared, out of which 5,623 students secured first division, 3,546 second division and 516 third division, 1338, additionally secured letters. The students achieved distinction,” Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam said. said in a media release. A total of 164 schools recorded 100 per cent results, and in 17 schools all students passed in the first division. During the last two decades, eight students of Vidya Bharati have achieved the highest position in the state. “Vidya Bharti lays emphasis on holistic development through effective implementation of Panchpadi pedagogy and National Education Policy (NEP) from primary to university level,” said Sailendra Pandey, Saha Prasar Paramukh, Vidya Bharti, Uttar Assam Paranta. “Vidya Bharati institutions have consistently excelled in the field of education while preserving and promoting the rich culture and language of Assam,” he added. Senior officials including Dr. Pawan Tiwari, Sangathan Mantri, Parbutar Khetra of Vidya Bharati, President of Seshu Siksha Samiti Assam, Kolinder Kumar Bhagwati and General Secretary Jagannath Rajbanshi congratulated all the students and wished them a bright future. The remarkable performance has further strengthened Vidya Bharati’s reputation as a leading education network in the region. Academicians noted that the consistent results reflect the disciplined educational practices, dedicated teachers and strong community support, which motivate Assamese students to strive for excellence in future board examinations.
