New Delhi: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Thursday announced that Mohun Bagan Super Giants (MBSG) and Kerala Blasters Three days extension, till April 5 (Sunday), to pay the first participation fee Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 season. According to the revised financial model shared with the clubs, each club had to pay Rs 3 million by March 5, another Rs 3 million between March 28 and April 4 and Rs 2 million by May 1.
The AIFF has reminded clubs that failure to pay the full amount, including a daily fine of Rs 1 lakh, may lead to “disqualification of the club from participation”.In the initial discussions on the subject, the AIFF had said that if payments are not made for seven days, they will issue a disqualification notice to the club(s). If no payment is made for the next four days, the club(s) will be disqualified from the next season’s ISL.“A penalty of Rs 1 lakh per day shall be levied for each day of delay from the due date to actual payment. On expiry of seven days of continuous non-payment, the AIFF shall issue a disqualification notice to the club. If the default is not remedied within four days from the date of such notice, the club shall be disqualified from the next season without any communication.” AIFF to 14 ISL clubs.The AIFF also clarified that their decision(s) “shall be final, binding and non-appealable.”A revision of the financial model reduced AIFF’s contribution to the league’s operational expenses from Rs 9.7 crore to zero. The federation, which is running the ISL this season, posted a revenue deficit of Rs 25.9 crore in its audited statements for 2024-25.After the exit of Reliance subsidiary FSDL in December 2025, the AIFF is running the show without the Rs 50 crore a year it used to get as commercial rights. The governing body hopes to bring in a new partner for the next 15-20 years, with the bidding process closing on March 26.
