Pune: Smita NXT, Rotary Bebovadi’s global grant project HG Foundation and with the support of Sirala, has helped 20 girls from economically weaker sections to get jobs in top companies. These girls selected under Smita NXT project have undergone 6 months training in AI at PICT. Some of these girls recently shared their experiences at the Asmita Symposium, a special program organized by Rotary Bibwewadi at JW Marriott.Six months ago, Rotary Bebovadi launched a unique initiative called ‘Asmita NXT’ to enable girls from economically weaker sections of the society to get education in Artificial Intelligence (AI). In the first phase, 20 girls were selected for this course. Among them, Shravani Rawat, Tejal Rawat, Dineshwari Mahesane, Nikita Kadley, Prajakta Sadankar, Madhumita Jadhav and Pratiksha Kothari who have secured jobs expressed their sentiments at the Smita Symposium programme.Asmita NXT’ has been launched by Rotary Bebovadi to empower girls from economically weaker sections of the society in the field of artificial intelligence. Girls whose annual family income is less than lakhs of rupees, girls who are unable to pursue higher education in any subject due to circumstances, girls who do not have skill based education for industry and due to lack of which they are not getting required job opportunities, such girls are selected for this course based on selection test.These girls were given free advanced laptops and free training in AI and machine learning at PICT, Pune’s leading computer education institute. After this training, he was also given the experience of working in different companies. After completing the course, most of these 20 girls got job opportunities in reputed companies like Sirala, Cape Gemini, Vice Vera, UST Bangalore. These trained girls have got an annual pay package ranging from Rs.5 lakh to Rs.8 lakh.Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) is the academic partner for this initiative and has specially designed this six-month training module for this initiative.Sharing their experiences, the girls said that while taking the AI course, they got to learn many new things, which changed their lives. This training has brought about a sea change in his personality.Stating that AI has become an integral part of life these days, PICT Associate Professor Gitanjali Kale said the course was designed for girls from economically weaker sections of the society and implemented properly. The girls also completed it with determination and got good results.
