Actor Dhurandhar Vivek Sinha recently spoke about the overwhelming response to her show, her unconventional journey and the life lessons that shaped her. From going viral for her intense role to receiving love – even across borders – the actress couldn’t hold back.
“I also received love Pakistan ‘
Talking about the reactions on social media, Vivek shared how the audience is angry with his character and impressed with his performance.“Instagram has almost 2,000 comments. I’m actually enjoying it… everyone is saying that seeing me makes them so angry that they feel like jumping on the screen and punching me. But at the same time, they’re saying my acting is so good… it felt so real,” she told Zee News.He added that while many comments praise his work, some can be extreme. “Some people are even writing that they will come to Pakistan and beat me… so I had to clarify, ‘Brother, I am not Pakistani, I am Indian. I am from Bijnor, from Dhampur’.Interestingly, Vive revealed that he is also receiving appreciation from Pakistan.“I got a lot of messages from Pakistan saying, ‘Sir, I love you from Pakistan.’ I told them, wait…we’ll talk later,” she laughed, adding that audiences everywhere are connecting with her performance.
A tough childhood and the strength of a single mother
Opening up about his personal life, Vive spoke emotionally about losing his father at a young age.“My luck was such… I was only six years old when my father died. My mother raised me as a single parent… and I never felt that I lacked anything in life,” she said. She credited her confidence and positivity to her mother’s upbringing. “The confidence and happiness I have in life today… it’s all because of him.”
From Bijnor to theater to cinema
Vivek’s journey to acting was not planned. Hailing from a small town in Bijnor, he followed the usual path before discovering theatre.“My life was completely normal… I studied, I got a job… then someone suggested I try acting. I didn’t even know what theater was,” he recalled. His first experience in the theater was far from glamorous. “I got a role called ‘Fourth Villager’. I only had one line in the whole script: “Lord, the wells have dried up.” I was bored in three days,” he laughed. But things changed when he got a better role and started performing on stage. “The first time I performed on stage people appreciated me… that’s where my career really started.”
The big break and the Dhurandhar moment
After years of acting in theater and smaller roles — including a brief appearance in PK — Vivek says Dhurandhar changed everything.“My life completely changed… it went way beyond what I ever expected,” she said.Likewise, a brief appearance in the trailer also made a big impact. “Those 14 seconds of footage made me feel like a star… people’s blood was boiling after watching it,” he added.Talking about enacting the kidnapping scene, Vivek said, “My character is based on a real-life kidnapper – attractive, confident and dangerous. We went through the references thoroughly. It was to show how terrifying the situation was. When people didn’t respond to ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, it showed fear, that’s what we wanted to portray.Sharing the experience of working with the team, Dhurandhar said, “Unbelievable. No ego at all. Everyone—from the director to actors like R Madhavan—was very supportive. Madhavan even suggested that we play with ‘snake eyes’ in one scene. That was the final revelation.”
“I was never stressed about work”
Despite the ups and downs, Vivek says he never chased work in desperation.“I was never stressed about getting a job. I just chose what I thought was right. Even though it was a gap of six months, I never felt nervous,” she said.“I never felt even 1% depressed. I stayed positive… and maybe this is the result of that.”
Controversy and cinema that reflects reality
Addressing the controversies surrounding films like PK and Dhurandhar, Vivek said that cinema has often mirrored society.“Films are a reflection of society. We show what is happening around us. Some people get hurt, but many people connect deeply with it,” he explained.
