On the ‘Unplanned’ podcast, Abby shared that she had a deceased sister, a year older than her, named Emily Nicole. “And we named him Emerson, they share that middle name, it was really meaningful to us. Our nurse, that was literally an angel to us when we delivered, her name was also Nicole. So it just felt so right, so right for our family. But choosing that name after knowing that his heart was not beating... no parent wants to go through that”.
