Rajesh Kumarmuch loved for her role as Rosesh in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and last seen Mohit Suri‘Saiyaara’, recently revealed that he is close to shedding a huge financial burden, with only 10-15 per cent of his Rs 2 crore loan remaining. Last year, after his release Ahaan Panday in the film, Rajesh shared that he had a debt of 2 crores, but in a recent interview, he revealed that he now has only 20 lakhs of that amount. Now in an interview, he stated that he sold his car. Rajesh addressed the perception people had of him during his difficult phase. When he ventured into farming during the pandemic, a move that did not go as expected due to his lack of experience, he found himself in debt. How did people then react to the option of transport, he told Aftab Puntoo in an interview on his YouTube channel: “When I told that I have taken up farming, that I have failed… And during that time, when people saw me taking an auto rickshaw, they said: ‘Damn, he can’t afford a car, he’s taking a car.’ Now, when I get a car, after so much work, they call me “to the ground”. Clarifying that his decision to sell his car had nothing to do with financial constraints, Rajesh explained that Mumbai traffic was the real reason. “I sold my car because of the traffic. I only use local transport. I also take Ola or Uber for rides. I prefer that, I prefer Rapido,” he said. When asked if the drivers recognize him, “Then he takes a selfie. Even car drivers take selfies.”For Rajesh, practicality trumps status. He emphasized that reaching his destination is more important than the mode of transport. When asked about ego, he humorously replied, “Pagal hai kya (are you crazy?)” adding, “My upbringing tells me that comfort is more important. Showing off is another thing. Even if I buy an expensive car, I will stay in the same traffic.”The actor also said that he often uses the metro, seeing that it is close to his house, and that he does not mind being recognized in public spaces. “That’s not a problem. People come up to you, talk to you, take pictures. They do that at the airport too. So how is the metro different? Even if you’re abroad, people in the Indian community know you, take pictures. That’s the advantage of your job.” He ended with a humble philosophy: “You should stop giving yourself so much importance. You should be happy. Inner happiness is the best way.”In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rajesh shared his financial update, saying, “Now I am out of that financial cycle. Only about 10-15% of the debt is left. Soon, I will surprise people with something new, still related to agriculture, but something special.”It also helped how his family supported him. “When I became obsessed with farming, my sisters—who have been US and Finnish citizens for the past 25 years—decided to join me. Around my 50th birthday in January this year, my elder sister, who is four years older than me, quit her job in America and flew to India. That was my birthday present. He came the next day and said, ‘You take a back seat and focus on acting, I’ll manage the farming here.“Because of him, my younger sister also resigned and said she would join us in March,” he said.Despite his current stability, Rajesh’s journey was not without difficulties. After gaining fame through Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, he faced severe financial setbacks due to his organic farming business. In a previous interview, she shared that she also sold vegetables outside her son’s school to earn money. “That’s also when my EMIs started bouncing. Credit card agents started coming home. I racked up a lot of debt. We had to leave the farm and leave,” he said, adding that it took time to fully understand the complexity of the crop.
