Huma Qureshi, preparing for Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, recalls her Gangs of Wasseypur debut. At Farah Khan’s party, Ed Sheeran hailed the film as “chilling” after being praised for its Hindi flavor. The Kashyap-directed saga won awards; Huma will join Yash in Toxic on June 4.

At Farah KhanAt Ed Sheeran’s party in Mumbai, Huma had a memorable encounter. He shared in a podcast with Prakhar Gupta, “Ultimate flex tha jab main Ed Sheeran se mili aur usne ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ dekhi thi” (It was the ultimate flex when I met Ed Sheeran and saw ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’). And I said, what? Have you seen ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’? Farah Khan threw a party for Ed Sheeran when she was in Mumbai, and everyone met her there. I was trying to have a conversation with her, and she was so sweet. He said, “I love your country, and I’d like to make music here.”

Huma noted how she introduced Ed Sheeran to some “interesting” Hindi words in a bid to showcase the unique “flavor” of India. He recounted, “So they were calling him, and I said, ‘If you want to learn a more interesting colorful language, you have to watch this film of ours, Gangs Of Wasseypur.'” He stopped and asked, ‘Were you in that film?’ “Yes.” He said, ‘We just saw the movie,’ and then he called his director, and Farah said, ‘What did you tell him? Why is he calling his manager?’ And Ed said, ‘We just saw the movie, and we really liked it. It’s such a cool movie. “And I was like, ‘This is a cool moment.'”

Huma Qureshi’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ details

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film starred Anurag and Zeishan Quadri. This two-part saga starred Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Reema Sen, Piyush Mishra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vineet Kumar Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Anurita Jha and Tigmanshu Dhulia, among others, in pivotal roles. For Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance earned him great critical acclaim, the National Award for Best Audiography, and the Special Jury Award for Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Huma Qureshi in ‘Toxic’

Huma will next be seen in ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Yash has a double role alongside Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Kiara Advani and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles among others. The gangster period film is produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations and Yash returns to the big screen after ‘KGF Chapter 2’. The film will hit the big screen on June 4.
