Amidst it, Sunam Salve, who was late singer Asha Bhosle’s house help for over 40 years, remembered the late playback singer as a grounded being who respected “a poor woman like her”.

In an interview to IANS, Sunam Salve said, “I used to work in her (Asha Bhosle’s) house, and her behavior was very good. She had a lot of respect for a poor woman like me who lives in a slum.”Speaking about the singer’s unfortunate death, he said, “When we learned that she (Asha Bhosle) was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, we were very worried. We are deeply saddened by today’s news.”He also spoke about Asha Bhosle’s character to stay grounded despite her huge success as a singer. Sunam Salve said, “He even visited my village. He never turned me down whenever I needed him.”Mourning the death of the singer, Salve mentioned that he only got the news on Sunday morning. “I was at my house for the last eight days. This morning I found out about his death, and I felt very sad,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pushpa Navar, who worked and stayed at late singer Lata Mangeshkar’s residence, revealed, “I used to work with Lata Didi and live in her house. After her death, I stopped working. Asha Didi was very kind.”Mourning the death of Asha Bhosle, she said, “I am very saddened by her death. I have no words to express this pain. All the sisters were very good. They treated me like family and gave me lots of love.”

Dr. Pratit Samdani, who was attending to the legendary artist, said that he died of multi-organ failure. He said he was speaking to the media outside the hospital.Asha Bhosle’s last rites will be held at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on April 13, 2026 at 4 pm. Before that, people can pay their respects to the late music icon at his residence in Casa Grande building in Lower Parel from 11 am onwards. He will be killed with full honor of the state.
