The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai will launch its first 4-year Bachelor’s degree program in Digital Science and Business Management this year. IIT Bombay and industry partners.The announcement was made by IIM Mumbai Director Professor Manoj Tiwari on Saturday.“The program seamlessly integrates the most transformative technologies of recent times – artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, Internet of Things, and robotics – with the core pillars of management: operations, marketing, finance, and manufacturing,” he said at the convocation ceremony of the institute’s first MBA batch.The programme, which has 70 seats, is designed to meet the emerging needs of digitally-driven industries by producing future-ready professionals who can work at the intersection of technology and business leadership, he said.Tiwari said the degree programme, which will cost Rs 6-7 lakh annually, will be in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and a number of industry partners who will teach the students aspects of technology.“IIM Mumbai will teach the business management aspect with a 100 per cent placement guarantee,” he said.Tiwari said that the selection is being done through the Joint Entrance Examinations – Main (JEE-Main), followed by an interview.“We will also give third-year students an option to pursue Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in the third year of the course, which they can complete in one year immediately after the four-year bachelor’s program,” he added.He said that the institute is planning to start more such bachelor’s programs, however, this can be done only after the infrastructure of the institute is upgraded.“Currently we have a hostel capacity of 1,200 students. When we upgrade our infrastructure to accommodate more students, we will start more bachelor’s programmes,” Prof Tiwari said.A total of 505 students graduated from the IIM Mumbai campus on Saturday, after its official recognition from NITIE (National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering) in 2026, according to the institute.Among the MBA batches, 300 students of General MBA course, 177 students of MBA – Operations and Supply Chain Management, and 28 students of MBA – Sustainability Management graduated.Additionally, 39 students from the first batch of the one-year postgraduate program on Logistics and Operations Excellence through Digitization, 26 students from the one-year postgraduate program for executives, and 6 students obtained doctoral degrees.
