‘Zathura: A Space Adventure’ actor Dax Shepard recently opened up about his relationship with late ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actor Eric Dane. They were two close friends; however, the beginning of their friendship was rough, to say the least. Dax Shepard talks about his friendship with Eric Dane
During an interview with CNN, the famous star touched on the subject of his friendship with Eric Dane, who died of ALS earlier this month. He revealed that the two were not the best of friends at first, and even hated each other. However, at their AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meetings, the two began to bond and grow closer. Shepard spoke more about his friend and actor: “Eric Dane, I can say now that I met him in recovery and we hated each other. I hated him! I thought he was a bit of a bully. And we were in a meeting. [and] He threatened a younger member of the group, who had been on fire for a long time, and I told him: “Let’s go. outside Right now.” It was on. And we went out to a fistfight in the hallway of an AA meeting.”He also remembers that at that time the people in the area had to divide them before something serious happened. However, neither of them stopped going to the meetings, and over the next 2 years, the two began to become friends and interact with each other. “I started to relate to him. I heard his story,” he said.
Dax Shepard talks about how he and Eric Dan understood each other
At AA meetings, the ‘Employee of the Month’ actress explained that they were both honest about their traumatic upbringings. What happened to Dane’s father and how they both grew up without a father figure in their lives. “That little boy grew up without a father, just like I grew up without a father, and he was so looking for masculine validation, and he took all these forms that I hated. I’m sure he hated me,” she added. Shepard once told the ‘Euphoria’ actress how meeting one of her acts was her favorite, and this was followed by a similar comment a few weeks later. She provided context, adding, “Maybe a week or two later, one of her shares, she said, ‘I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I think I’ve fallen in love with Dax.’ And then we became friends.”Eric Dan previously reported that he was diagnosed with ALS in April of last year. He shared that he started showing symptoms more than a year ago, after which he was recently diagnosed. Dane died in February this year. He was 53 years old when he died.
