The ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star recently opened up about being in a healthy and happy relationship while speaking with Tamra Judge on her ‘Two Ts in a Pod’ podcast. Although he wasn’t ready to share his real name, Mellencamp called him ‘Derek’ for the sake of the show and added that he is older than her.Also, they both have children from previous relationships and this has proven to be a challenge. “That’s when you bond, and you’re both parents. Like, how are you supposed to get past first base? I’ve got kids at my house. He’s got kids at his house,” she said.“I’m taking it slow with him. Usually, that hasn’t been my past,” she also shared, revealing that she wants to do things differently with this relationship.

The reality TV star is battling stage 4 cancer, but that doesn’t dampen her spirits because her partner is there every step of the way. In the podcast, he revealed that he has had a lot of help, and that he remains optimistic about the treatment. He added: “He’s pretty good. He’s generally a pretty positive and logical person. But what I like most about him is that he makes me laugh.“Mellencamp was diagnosed with cancer in October 2022, when a routine scan revealed a cancerous mole on her back. Since then, he has undergone several surgeries for treatment. Her cancer has reached stage 4 melanoma.
