Speaking to CNN, the actress thanked her father for her time in Alcoholics Anonymous. He also remembered that “they put me in mourning and I had to console them”. This feeling began to “grow” as she struggled with her grief.Shepard was released from a hospital near Detroit to his then-fiancée, Bell, 45, who was seven months pregnant at the time. What happened next left him speechless.“It’s OK,” Shepard recalled Bell saying over the phone. “I’m here. Look left.”“Keep in mind, we live in California, and I’m in Detroit,” Shepard continued through tears. “And I look to my left, and there she’s standing, seven months pregnant. She flew, she knew I was struggling, and she flew and she didn’t tell me and she figured out where this hospital was and it was right next to the car. What a champion, you know?”
A greeting that the family will always cherish
The couple then managed to introduce Dave to their unborn grandson in the hospital room. “He got to feel her belly,” Shepard said, as a photo of the emotional moment was shared on screen to applause from the audience. “Look how cute she is with that belly,” he added with a laugh.Shepard previously shared the photo on Instagram in June 2022 to celebrate Father’s Day.
