The popular 3D stealth game, ‘Metal Gear Solid’, is officially being turned into a movie! According to reports, the beloved game will now be turned into a live-action movie. Not only that, but it will be backed by the team behind the incredible ‘Final Destination’ movies, raising the bar of expectations.
‘Metal Gear Solid’ will be made into a live action movie
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news, stating that the team behind the latest entry in the ‘Final Destination’ series, ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’, will be joining the project. Filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein will direct the upcoming project under their newly launched company, which is currently in development. The original game itself was created by the legendary Hideo Kojima, who is also known for games like ‘Snatcher’, ‘Policenauts’, ‘Zone of the Enders’ and many other versions of ‘Metal Gear Solid’.The president of the production label behind the live action, Sanford Panitch, also released a statement about the film and how excited he is about the project. He stated, “Zach and Adam are exciting storytellers, masters of visuals and suspense, and two of the most impressive director/producers working today. With projects across the company’s theaters, we’re thrilled to create a home for them, and proud to be part of the Sony family.”The two directors also talked about the upcoming live-action, saying, “Metal Gear Solid was nothing short of a ground-breaking cinematic masterpiece that revolutionized video games forever. We’re excited and honored to bring Hideo Kojima’s iconic characters and unforgettable world to life.”In February, it was confirmed that the pair of directors would also work on the animated film ‘Venom’.

The premise of the video game revolves around Solid Snake, who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize FOXHOUND, a terrorist organization and special forces unit that has been kidnapped and is about to launch a nuclear attack.
