Celebrating two decades of empowering future engineers, Cummins in India, a leading integrated power solutions provider, today celebrated the 20th anniversary of its flagship Nurturing Brilliance Program by inducting a new batch of 520 scholars. The initiative is being implemented by the Cummins India Foundation, which provides scholarships and mentorship opportunities to students from underprivileged backgrounds to pursue diplomas and degrees in engineering and build a future-ready career. The 2025-26 scholars were felicitated by Shweta Arya, Managing Director, Cummins India Limited, and Ashish Agrawal, Chief Administrative Officer, Cummins India, during a ceremony at the Cummins India campus in Pune.This year, the program saw an overwhelming response, with over 9,600 applications received. After a rigorous selection process, 520 deserving scholars were selected for the 2025-26 academic year, including 20 scholars with disabilities, highlighting the program’s deep commitment to equity and inclusion. To date, ‘Nurturing Brilliance’ has positively impacted over 3,100 students of which 52% have benefited from girl students, enabling them to build strong and sustainable careers.

In addition to covering tuition fees, educational expenses, and learning resources, it focuses on building the skills needed for long-term success. Scholars have access to Cummins’ experienced leaders, practical industry exposure, and tailored training in soft skills, employability, and career preparation. The initiative also fosters a strong and sustainable network of scholars and mentors, enabling continuous learning, knowledge sharing and continuous professional development.Started in Pune in 2006 with just 13 students, the Nurturing Brilliance program has evolved into a national, digitally enabled platform. Today, the initiative creates pathways from aspirations to opportunity for a new generation of engineers in key industrial hubs of the country including Pune, Phaltan, Ahlinagar, Indore, Jamshedpur, Dharashiv, Vidisha, Gana, and Ranchi.
