Former Bollywood actress Somy Ali has alleged that she was sidelined by the Hindi film industry after speaking publicly about having a bad relationship with a powerful actor. Although he did not name himself, he had a long-term relationship with Somy Salman Khan and he also posted about it on social media earlier. She said of him: “The eight years I spent with him were the worst years of my life. Besides the affairs and tons of stories, he constantly belittled me as ugly, stupid and dumb. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t make me feel a little bit and a little bit.” Although, he later deleted this Instagram post. Now in a recent interview, she says that after speaking out about that abusive relationship with a superstar actor, many people in the industry suddenly cut ties with her. In an interview to Money Control, she said, “No one took a stand when I spoke and in fact I have been boycotted from Bollywood. I spoke against him and his revenge was that he decided to destroy my NGO and malign my reputation. People like it Suniel Shettypeople like it Vivek Oberoiwho is like my brother rakhi, each of them stopped talking to me. And I said, what happened all of a sudden? He added that it soon became apparent that “if this person says ‘Somy Ali se baat mat karo’, Somy Ali se baat mat karo.”Reflecting on how she got into the film industry, Somy revealed that acting was never part of her plan. “Why did I leave? I think everybody knows that I didn’t go there for acting and acting happened. I didn’t go there for acting. I went there for another reason,” he said. However, he found himself working alongside some of the biggest names in Bollywood at the time.He credited his journey with fate, saying, “I believe in fate and destiny. What’s going to happen, what’s written, is going to happen. You can’t change it.” Somy recalled working with actors like Sanjay Dutt, Om Puri and Salman Khan, describing his career as one that “just happened”.In retrospect, he described himself as an inexperienced teenager navigating a complex industry. “I was a young girl who wasn’t interested in acting. I always missed my dance rehearsals. I would take Suniel Shetty from Roshan Taneja’s class to Shiv Sagar and say, ‘Let’s go eat pav bhaji’. And I ended up working with leading actors. Om Puri ji in Mississippi Masala. It was crazy. It happened.”
