While Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues its strong run at the box office, the film has landed in legal trouble. Bollywood production house Trimurti Films has filed a lawsuit Aditya DharB62 Studios banner for alleged unauthorized use of the song Rang De Lal (Oye Oye).

According to a report by Bar and Bench, the dispute is over the rights of the popular song from the 1989 film Tridev. The song was composed by Kalyanji-Ananji along with Viju Shah, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi and vocals by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.Trimurti Films has complained that the song, or a similar version of it, has been used in the film without obtaining the necessary licenses.

The report also indicates that Trimurti has claimed ownership and/or control of the rights to the musical work and sound recording. The company has alleged that the use constitutes copyright infringement, including unauthorized reproduction and public communication of the song.The suit seeks an injunction to further restrict use of the song, along with damages and other relief. He has also raised concerns about commercial exploitation of the track in theatrical releases, streaming platforms and promotional content.
The cinema remains strong at the competition
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Spy action thriller stars Ranveer Singh in leadership and serves as a follow-up to Dhurandhar (2025).The film explores the origin story of his character, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, his transformation into Hamza Ali Mazari and his rise in Lyari’s underworld while pursuing a bigger mission.The group stars Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Rakesh Bediand Sara Arjun, with Denmark’s Pandor and Udaybir Sandhu in pivotal roles. The film also has a cameo by Yami Gautam. Despite the controversy, the film has performed brilliantly, reportedly crossing the Rs 1,000 crore mark at the Indian box office.
