Dakota Mortensen's alleged lip tattoo of Taylor Frankie Paul's debut sparks controversy amid 'Bachelorette' fallout

Taylor Frankie Paul and his ex, Dakota Mortensen, are embroiled in an increasingly messy mess. Just when things looked bad enough, a wild detail emerged, with Mortensen apparently tattooing Taylor’s initials on the inside of his lips. And it happened just hours after Taylor posted a Valentine’s Day promo for her season of ‘The Bachelorette,’ which, by the way, is no longer happening. At first, you might think it’s just a dramatic gesture from an ex who can’t let go. But now, with all the allegations flying (abuse, legal battles, reality TV chaos), it’s starting to look a lot darker. That tattoo isn’t just about love or heartbreak; it’s part of a larger story about control and obsession.

Dakota Mortensen’s Tattoo Incident: What Happened?

According to People’s report, Taylor says Dakota started acting “possessive” as her ‘Bachelorette’ premiere approached. According to court filings, on February 14, 2026, Dakota had “TFP” (Taylor’s initials) tattooed on the inside of her lip. Now, the timing is suspicious: Taylor’s Valentine’s Day promo happened right after it went up. Taylor says she saw pictures of the tattoo, and Dakota even admitted it in texts. She said it freaked her out, especially since they weren’t together anymore. It felt like another piece of the “possessive and erratic behavior” pattern.People who were around say that Dakota didn’t shut up, either. He showed the tattoo to others, even on camera, making the whole thing more of a spectacle. And then, things quickly escalated. On April 7, Taylor filed for a protective order against Dakota, alleging “abusive behavior and coercive control” during the relationship. Dakota already filed her own protective order against Taylor in March. At a hearing in April, the judge awarded custody of son Ever to Dakota, allowing Taylor supervised visitation up to eight hours a week until the next hearing in late April. In April’s introduction, Taylor described Dakota as “increasingly possessive” as her show’s premiere approached. He shared texts from Dakota on February 16th and 17th, after filming, but before the show was due to air. Messages? Things like “I want you forever”, “I still love and want you” and “give me a chance”. She also said that’s when she saw the lip tattoo, which Dakota confirmed in another text.Taylor summarized in her filing: “Given his increasingly possessive and erratic behavior, and the fact that we were not in a relationship, this was very disturbing. My initials are forever tattooed on the body of a man who has abused and owned me.”The report added that Dakota got the tattoo just hours after Taylor’s promo went live, and showed it to Mormon Wives cast members and on camera while filming. Taylor’s file includes pictures of the tattoo, labeled “TFP,” but no one knows exactly when those pictures were taken.
