Producer Namit Malhotra spoke to the chatter about the conferenceRamayana“first look teaser titled”Rama‘, after its release on April 2. He presented the teaser Ranbir Kapoor As Lord Ram, he sparked controversy online, with many praising the film’s ambition and scale while others criticized its VFX and character design and questioned its hefty budget of €4 billion.
‘Ramayana’ producer ‘overwhelmed’ by backlash
Responding to the mixed response that flooded social media, Malhotra released a note on his handle, admitting that he was “overwhelmed” by the audience’s reactions. He began his statement by saying, “The response over the past few days has been overwhelming, inspiring and humbling. It fills me with profound humility and joy to see our Rama continue to touch so many hearts around the world.”He added: “I love all the conversations, the excitement and the feedback. It is a story etched in the souls of billions and deserves our utmost attention.”
‘Ramayana’ producer considering feedback
Assuring that the group has received his opinion, he added: “Thousands of artists and collaborators who have been working passionately outside are excited and energized to get out there and continue to give the best in all departments. We are listening carefully, working diligently and doing our best with the respect that honors.”“This is our Ramayana. It belongs to all of us, and that great emotion and responsibility to make every Indian proud is what drives me every day,” he said, concluding by writing, “What you’ve seen so far is just the beginning…we all strive to celebrate our culture and our history on the biggest screens this Diwali.”
‘Ravana ‘ teaser for the next release?
With the ‘Rama’ teaser already out, the makers, in a recent interaction, teased that the next big clip will be from ‘Ravana’. According to the manager Nitesh Tiwarithe film will not portray Ravan as a negative character, but will depict his various aspects including warrior, musician, king and devotee of Shiva.

Ranbir Kapoor Rama, Sai Pallavi Sita and Yash as Ravana Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Rakul Preet Singh as Soorpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Indira Krishnan and Arun Govil as Raja Dashrath. ‘Ramayana’ will release as a two-part epic, Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
