Mrunal Thakur has heaped praise Ranveer Singhcalling it his “lucky charm” while celebrating the massive box office success of his latest release, Dhurandhar The Revenge, which has crossed Rs 1 billion worldwide.In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Mrunal opened up about his admiration for Ranveer and how he played a pivotal role in his journey.
“He’s the reason I’m in this industry”
“My heart is happy. He’s my luck. He’s the reason I’m in this industry in the first place. I did an ad with him as a model for a hair brand, and when that ad hit the screens… then filmmakers started noticing me and so… I give him my credit and this man really helped me. He is a very positive person and deserves all the success.”
“I didn’t see Ranveer Singh, I saw Hamza”
Praising his performance in the film, he added, “The acting was not surface level. It had depth and layers. I didn’t see him as Ranveer Singh. I only saw him as Hamza… he was a character more than a hero. I feel incredibly proud of Ranveer because he is such a hard worker. I pray and want him to do whatever he does.
Dhurandhar 2, released in theaters on March 19 in Hindi and South Indian languages with paid previews on March 18, follows the story of an Indian spy navigating high-stakes operations. The sequel follows the journey of Ranveer’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, as he rises within the power structure of Lyari while working to dismantle the terror network that threatens India. The film also features an intense face-off between Arjun Rampal and Ranveer Singh, and stars R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun and Danish Pandor in pivotal roles.Meanwhile, Mrunal is gearing up for the release of Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap, which is set to hit the screens on April 10.
