New Delhi: The Bangladesh government on Tuesday appointed a former cricketer. Tamim Iqbal as president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and dissolved the current board of directors of the country’s cricketing body.Current BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul has been removed by the country’s National Sports Council (NSC), which had formed an ad hoc committee to run the day-to-day affairs until fresh elections are held.This development comes a few days after BCB arrived. BCCI A request for restoration of bilateral relations.Tamim, 37, is the youngest BCB chief and will lead an 11-member ad-hoc committee that includes former Bangladesh captain Minhajul Abedin and former cricketer and TV commentator Athar Ali Khan.According to a report by news agency PTI, Bulbul was removed mainly because of the debacle during the T20 World Cup where former caretaker government advisor Asif Nazar refused to allow the national team to travel to India for the global event.Nazrul was of the view that the Bangladesh games should be shifted from Kolkata and Mumbai to Sri Lanka as a protest against Mustafizur Rahman’s removal from the IPL.Bulbul was a mere spectator during the entire affair and in the last few days, six BCB directors had resigned because of him.Former Bangladesh captain and country’s great opener Tamim Iqbal has been named as the head of the 11-member ad-hoc committee, which will be responsible for holding the Cricket Board elections in the next 90 days (three months).According to NSC director Aminul Hasan, the decision to dissolve the existing BCB board and form an ad hoc committee has been communicated to the International Cricket Council (ICC).Although the ICC’s charter does not allow government or outside interference in the board’s affairs, it is unlikely that the international body will ban the Bangladesh board as the NSC has already announced the timeline for holding the elections.The 11-member ad-hoc committee includes Tamim Iqbal (President), Athar Ali Khan, Roshana Imam, Mirza Yasir Abbas, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Minhaz Al Abedin Nunn, Israfel Khosrow, Sarsoon Chaudhary, Salman Isfahani, Rafiqul Islam, Faheem Sinha.See also: RR vs MI Live Score
