Intensification and spread of rain is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday,” the IMD said.“The weather is expected to become more severe on Tuesday, when Cyclone Kalbishakhi will bring winds of 50-60 kmph, lightning and rain is likely to affect Kolkata and adjoining areas.”
KKR, after their match against Punjab Kings on Monday, are next up against Lucknow Supergiants at the same venue, and rain is also predicted for that game. This means that after two defeats, the weather could add to KKR’s early season woes.Both teams’ scheduled practice sessions were canceled after heavy rain in the afternoon leading up to the match, leaving the Eden Gardens outfield under cover and patches of water visible.
