UPTET 2026: Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test Notification has been released. The registration process started on 27 March 2026 and is currently ongoing. Interested candidates can apply through official website upessc.up.gov.in.The examination authority has also introduced the One Time Registration (OTR) system this year. Candidates have to complete the OTR process before filling the application form. Candidates will not be able to apply for the exam without completing the OTR.As per the schedule, the registration process will be open till 26 April 2026. The UPTET 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on 2nd, 3rd and 4th July 2026.
UPTET 2026: OTR is mandatory for application.
The authority has clarified that the candidates have to complete the one-time registration process first. During OTR, candidates need to fill basic details and generate a unique OTR ID. This ID will be required to complete the application form.
UPTET 2026: Eligibility Criteria
UPTET is a mandatory qualification for candidates seeking teaching jobs in government and aided schools in Uttar Pradesh.
- Primary Level (Class 1 to 5): Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and must have Diploma in Elementary Education of minimum two years duration or equivalent qualification.
- Upper Primary Level (Classes 6 to 8): Candidates should have graduation degree with minimum 50% marks and should have Diploma in Elementary Education of minimum two years duration or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree, as per the official notification issued earlier.
UPTET 2026: Steps to Register
Candidates can follow these steps to apply:
- Go to official website upessc.up.gov.in
- Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process.
- Upload required documents including photograph and signature.
- Generate OTR ID after submitting details
- Login using OTR ID and fill the application form.
- Pay the application fee through online mode.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page.
