On Instagram, Chitrangda posted a video of ‘Chand Dekh Lena’, with Salman and her rehearsing the song. Cast in March, it masterfully highlights the moon’s deep emotional connections with Eid and Karwa Chauth. For Eid, the moon represents joy and unity; For Karwa Chauth, it evokes love, longing and devotion, combining these traditions through shared feelings of hope and emotion. ‘Maatrubhumi’ release date is moving forward

Originally titled “Battle of Galwan”, the film was slated to release on April 17. However, due to the pending shooting, the makers postponed it without announcing a new date. Now, reports suggest that the Salman Khan starrer might hit the theaters on May 15.

‘Maatrubhumi’ May 15 appears as a precursor

According to Bollywood Hungama source, additional shooting is done and the film will be ready soon. Hence, the makers feel that it is better to release the film sooner rather than later. Various options are being considered, and are being considered seriously on May 15th. At one point, they wanted to release the film on Independence Day, but that will not be possible, as Aamir Khan has taken the lead role in Sunny Deol’s ‘Lahore 1947’. The current plan is to find out if it is possible to release Maatrubhumi on 15th May. If not, they will be released later. Meanwhile, an official announcement is still awaited.

The evolution of the title ‘Maatrubhumi’ has been explained

Salman unveiled the updated title and a striking new poster on March 16, with the tagline “May War Rest in Peace.” It represents the group’s vision to go beyond the mere narrative of war, highlighting the human toll of war and the call for peace. ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’ is slated to hit theaters on April 17, 2026. Industry whispers, however, suggest pushing the Independence Day slot to mid-August. Director Apoorva Lakhia shed some light on the shift, sharing with HTCity, “The title change may come as a shock to Mr SK’s fans, but it wasn’t an overnight decision. From the beginning, we registered two titles, Battle of Galwan and Maatrubhumi. During our filmmaking journey, we realized that it was never just a struggle. At its heart, the film is about humanity, empathy and the silent struggles of our soldiers.”
