The teaser of Ramayana has sparked conversations ever since its release, especially among fans of the iconic Ramayan. Now, Dipika Chikhlia, who immortalized Sita on TV, has shared her first reaction, and it marks a marked change from her earlier stance.
‘It’s very big… it looks very nice’
Reacting to the reveal teaser Ranbir Kapoor Lord Rama told India Today Dipika said, “I saw the teaser and it’s really big. Bahut rich lag raha hai. Unhone bahut achhe se banaya hai. (He looks very rich. They did it very well).”He further added, “So now I’m looking forward to the film and it looks really cool, no doubt about it.”
A change from his earlier criticisms
Dipika’s appreciation comes a month after she expressed major reservations about the epic’s retellings. In June 2024, he said: “Honestly, I’m quite disillusioned with people who keep doing the Ramayan because I don’t think you should.”He further said, “People are making a mess. I don’t think people should do Ramayan over and over because every time they do it they want to bring something new; a new story, a new angle, a new look.”He also criticized Adipurush in the same interaction.Dipika became a household name in the late 1980s when Ramayan aired on Doordarshan. The portrait of Sita continues to be remembered for its grace and simplicity.
